I looked up companion plants for strawberries, and found quite a few.

bush beans
spinach
lettuce
onions
thyme
comfrey
borage

Comfrey keeps surrounding soil rich and moist. Rotted leaves and roots mixed with water makes good fertilizer. Improves size and flavor of strawberries if planted nearby.

Borage and strawberries help each other improves the soil nutrition for the strawberries and enhances the fruits flavor and yield.

Some are not going to work in the pots - bush beans and onions are out because of their size, spinach or lettuce would probably work, but Comfrey or Borage seem to offer the most benefit. Out of those two Comfrey does not seem to be a popular plant in the US, so I think I will have the most luck finding a Borage plant.

This is my first successful seed growing venture... EVER. Seed to bloom with this beautiful sweet pea! This particular one was planted directly into wine barrel #2 back in November...

It's about time to transplant some of these guys.

Morning Glory 5 of 11 sprouted
Cerinthe - 6 of 12 sprouted
Poppy - approx 50 seedlings
Watermelon - 3 of 5 sprouted
Nasturtium - 2 of 6 sprouted
Phlox - 2 of 6 sprouted
Lavender - 0 of 6 sprouted
Chives - 2 of 6 survived
Thyme - approx 40 seedlings

Out of all of these, I think I am most happy about the morning glory. I have tried and failed so many time to grow these from seed, and finally I have a taste of success!

The strawberries in my strawberry pots from last year, are doing well, and are already blooming! If I can keep the bugs away this year I should have a great crop of fresh strawberries!

All the annuals I had in the pots last year did not return, Obviously...so I will look up companion plants for strawberries, and see what I can find to fill in the empty spaces.

The freesias are blooming!
I have them all planted in the containers of fruit trees... four total. and maybe a few other scattered here and there in other pots. Pictured here are the ones in my cherry trees. Oddly enough, I bought only blue freesias, and they come up every year read in one pot, and yellow in the other with one white in each.

On my way back from a long weekend on the coast, I stopped at the Seed Bank in Petaluma and got a few seed packets - carrots (Danvers 126), leeks (Carentan) and a couple of different melons, Charentais and Ogen. The woman behind the counter was excited about the Ogen, because someone else had come in looking for them, and they had said it was the best melon he'd ever tasted. SO of course now I am excited to get these planted and taste one for myself.

Lots of bulbs are popping up in the last couple of days this one has already been eaten up by some bugs...or maybe squirrels - I never can tell.
